Being Thankful

I wanted to take this time to tell you a short story about how God opens up doors for you when you least expect it.

I’ve been photographing corporate jets and large turbo-prop aircraft for over ten years and decided to follow my passion for airplanes and photography full-time over two years ago.

It would take an extremely long time to tell you how I got to where I am right now on a blog, maybe one day I will tell the entire story, but for now, I want to share one brief part of my story and about how the door God opened for me has helped me reach greater heights with my business.

I have a friend, who also happens to be a photographer and her brother is a pilot for a large corporation with a corporate flight department and they have two or three jets. Her brother receives weekly e-mail blasts from a company that specializes in aviation marketing and advertising. John (not his real name) forwarded one of the e-mail blast to his sister Jane (not her real name) and said that maybe Jay (my real name!) could start using this company’s services to grow my business.

I did reach out to the company that produces these wonderful advertisements and this company has helped me grow my business much more rapid than I could have ever done, on my own.

The company is called Aviation Broadcast and they do an incredible job for me and my marketing/advertising needs. Their website is located at www.aviationbroadcast.com. If you are involved in the aviation industry and want to grow your business, I highly recommend their work.

I am enclosing a few of the wonderful advertisements that they have sent out via e-mail blasts to help me grow my business. I cannot say enough good things about this company, and I wanted to let other people in the industry know about this company.

I highly recommend this company, they do great work!

Challenger Jet

I apologize for not writing anything on my blog for such a long time. There is no excuse for it, I just got busy and didn’t take enough time out of my busy day, to write anything.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a Challenger 601A for a client of mine and the photos turned out great. It was a very beautiful jet. Truthfully, I don’t think there are very many “ugly jets” to be honest with you.

The pilot of the aircraft was very helpful in arranging the jet where I needed it placed for the exterior photos, and then I was able to photograph the interior of the aircraft after that.

If I can ever be of assistance to you and your company, with professional aviation photographs, please let me know. I’m always glad to help!

I would also like to say that I wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and may God bless you and your family in 2014!

Houston Trip

I was recently hired to photograph two jets, in one day, down in Houston, TX by a client of mine.

I drove down to Houston and spent the night there, then woke up around 6.30 a.m. to make sure I got to the airport in plenty of time before the sun came up.

I photographed the exteriors of both jets, as the sun was rising, in order to get the most beautiful light available on them. After than, we put both of the jets back into the hangars for the interior shots. Due to there not being any air conditioning running in either plane, due to safety regulations, the inside temperature of both jets was extremely high, plus, in Houston, there is ALWAYS a ton of humidity being right next to The Gulf of Mexico.

I think during the course of photographing both jets, I must have lost about 10 pounds of water weight. I was soaking wet when I finished! Thankfully, I had made a request with my hotel for a “very late check-out” and I was able to go back to the hotel and clean up, before I drove back to Dallas.

I am so fortunately to do what I love and I have such a passion for my job. I am truly blessed!

Posting one of the jets on this post, I’ll save the photos of the other jet, until my next blog.

Embraer Legacy 600 Interior

I had the pleasure of photographing an Embraer Legacy 600, a few weeks ago, and had not yet posted a blog about it. The Embraer Legacy is basically an Embraer 135 Regional Jet, with the updated Mark I cockpit of an Embraer 145. This aircraft is built by Embrear Aircraft in Brazil. Many of your smaller, commuter carriers, such as American Eagle, Delta Connection, US Airways Express and United Express utilize these jets on a number of flights each day from their fortress hubs to smaller communities throughout the United States. The Embraer Legacy was launched in 2000 and is considered a “Super Mid-size” corporate jet, and it competes on the upper end of the small to mid sized range of business jets.

In over ten years of service, Embraer has delivered over 160 Legacy 600 aircraft in more than 20 countries. It has seating for 13 passengers in three partitioned sections within the aircraft.

This jet currently sales for approximately $20 million +, depending on all the “bells and whistles” an owner would want to purchase for their aircraft. The closest competitors to the size of this jet are the Gulfstream G-550 and Bombardier Global Express jets, and they are significantly more expensive to purchase than the Legacy 600.

Lear Jet 60

I was hired to photograph this beautiful Lear Jet for a client of mine about two weeks ago. It had previously been painted in a red and white scheme. I really like the looks of this scheme and think the designers did a great job in coming up with it. It is amazing how a coat of paint and some stripes can change the look of a jet!

The aircraft also had a new interior installed during the repainting process. I think it turned out very nice, as well.

If you have an aircraft that has been listed for six months or more, contact me to help you sell your jet faster. Always glad to help!

Before and After

Earlier this year, I traveled to Columbia, Missouri to photograph a private jet for a client of mine. The client wanted a very large print of his jet to hang inside his hangar office.

The jet is a Bombardier Global Express and the owner requested that I produce a beautiful and dramatic photograph of the jet.

I am showing you the before and after shot of the jet, once I completed the dramatic look for the owner. The owner of the jet was extremely happy with the finished product I delivered to him. It now proudly hangs on an office wall inside his hangar.

I can do this type of work for your jet aircraft, as well. If you have further questions, please contact me.

Always glad to help!

CJ2 Interior

I’ve been fairly busy this summer and so thankful for it. I know it has been a while since I’ve posted anything and I will start a great effort to update my site/blog more often, as I have really started to grow my business. I photographed this Citation CJ2 aircraft in June and in my previous post, I only posted photos of the exterior of that aircraft, and today I’m going to post photos of the interior.

This work is for a charter client who has numerous aircraft in their managed fleet that are available for charter. If you ever have a need for a charter aircraft, please contact me and I can put you in touch with this charter company. They are excellent to work with, extremely reliable, extremely safe and very professional. I highly recommend them.

Citation CJ2

I had a client contact me about photographing a Citation CJ2 jet that they own, and charter out to private clients, and wanted to show you just a few of the exterior shots of it. Photographed it very early last week, before the sun got too high in the sky, and also before it got too hot.

One thing about it, during the summer months, the DFW area does not cool down MUCH after the sun goes down. It is just basically HOT from June through September. But I would gladly take hot days over cold days any time I was given the choice. I do NOT like cold weather. No thanks!

Enjoy the photos.

Citation Bravo

Last Monday, I had a client hire me to photograph a Cessna Citation Bravo that is currently for sale.  I always enjoy working with this client, as he has been such a strong supporter of my company; and I think he loves airplanes just as much as I do.  He likes to sell them !!

The captain of the jet was there to help me, and he was a huge help.  He actually turned the A/C on inside the cabin, while I was photographing the interior of the jet, and that was so thoughtful of him.  During the summer months, the interior cabins of these jets get extremely hot and it becomes a sauna situation inside the cabin, as there is no air circulation in the hangar, and of course, no air circulating inside cabin either.  Plus, you’ve got all the avionics lit up and those screens produce a great deal of heat, and on top of that, you have all the interior lights on, as well; so the prospective client can get a good idea what the aircraft looks like during a flight.

Here are just a few photos of the shoot, for you to enjoy.

This week is going to be a busy week, too.  Photographing a Cessna CJ4 on Wednesday, then driving down to Austin to photograph an Embraer Legacy jet on Thursday.

Galaxy Interior

I received a call last week on Monday, at the last minute, from a prospective client asking if I could possibly come over on Tuesday morning, to take some interior photographs of a jet that this company had recently redecorated the entire cabin of the jet.

Thankfully, I was able to squeeze them into my schedule and I went over to photograph the new interior the next morning, before a huge rain storm hit that day.  The pilots of the jet were trying to get out of town, back to their home base before the rain storm came through; but that didn’t happen.  Better to be safe than sorry, especially in aviation.

There is an old saying in aviation, “There are old pilots, and there are bold pilots; there are no old bold pilots.”  I think that is a very wise statement.

These are the interior shots of this Gulfstream G-150, I hope you enjoy viewing them.  If you ever have any questions or would like to contact me to photograph one of your aircraft, please contact me; always glad to help.
